I had to laugh today... My mother has really surprised me with how fast she's learning to use the Internet when only a year ago she declared herself "computer free." She invented the term due her disdain for the term "computer illiterate" since it implied a deficiency on her part. Imagine my surprise today when she forwarded me a link to a Wikipedia page about her father (my Opa). Opa died back in April of 2005 and was the smartest person I ever met in real life. He was a lens designer by trade and he worked for many years designing lenses for Leica cameras among other things. I always knew that he was highly respected among his peers but I'm only now starting to realize how much of an impact he had on his field. Check out the Walter Mandler Wikipedia page if your curious as to some of his accomplishments.

Didn't do to much today. Erin was at the All About Pets Show for most of the day helping man the Rabbit Rescue booth. In the wake of the "bust" of the meat-processing facility that had hundreds of ill-treated rabbits it's been quite the week of media exposure for Rabbit Rescue. If anything good came out of that whole situation it's that Rabbit Rescue got the word out. They were selling $2 paper bunnies at the show and raised at least $500 as of the time Erin left today at around 5:30 so that's pretty good.
My office is about 99% finished being painted, thanks to Erin who did an amazing job painting. The orange colour caught my in-laws off guard yesterday when they came over but I really like it. I'm tired of sitting in rooms that are all subdued and pastel-coloured; this orange really pops. I can't wait to get a bookshelf set up and have stuff hung up on the walls.
I started reading Trail of Cthulhu today and I really like what I've read so far. Kenneth Hite really has a no-nonsense, straight to the point writing style which I like. I got a kick out of the fact that the included sample adventure is called "The Kingsbury Horror" since "Kingsbury" is my wife's maiden name.
Tomorrow it's off to my parents for Easter Sunday dinner. Mom's cooking up crown roast of pork with home-made pies for dessert. Woo-hoo!

Erin's mom, dad, sister, and grandmother came over for Good Friday today for dinner. We made a gigantic spiral-cut ham served with rice and vegetables and had copious amounts of cheesecake for dessert. Good times! I sent half of the leftovers home with Erin's folks and we still have enough ham to last until the rapture.
I recorded episode 12 of Wapcaplets this morning about Paizo's newly announced Pathfinder RPG. It's pretty ballsy of them, I think, to be planting a flag in 3.5 and releasing their "beta" rules at Gen Con when Wizards is going to be going full-bore.
So as of right now I'm 19 of 28 in my March Madness pool. Not bad considering I picked with zero knowledge of any of the players or teams.
